We treat all types of pets, even those that are a little less well-known. We currently offer exotic animal treatment services for the following:
Exotic pets often require special husbandry and dietary needs to keep them happy and healthy. Helping you care for your exotic animals is something we take great pride in. It is recommended that exotic animals get a full physical examination by a veterinarian twice a year. This is because most of these species are prey animals in the wild, which means they often don’t show any signs of illness or weakness until their condition is very severe. By bringing your pet in regularly for a check-up, we can help to detect any health concerns before they cause your pet serious problems or discomfort.
Some exotic pets, such as ferrets, can carry similar diseases and experience the same issues as dogs and cats. For this reason, please ask a veterinarian if your pet should be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, or utilize parasite preventatives.
For the safety of your pet and the pet’s of fellow Ark Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care clients, please adhere to the following guidelines when bringing your exotic pet in for their appointment:
To help us serve you and your exotic pet better, we ask you to please take a moment and fill out the Exotic History Form as best as possible This gives us a good overview of your pet's general care and their special needs.
